Call of Duty: Black Ops is the seventh main Call of Duty game and the sequel to Call of Duty: World at War. The game differs from most previous installments, which would involve a usual three-country campaign, while Call of Duty: Black Ops features two playable countries (Russia and the USA) but only has an American campaign. Several new features are also introduced, such as dive-to-prone and the available use of a flashlight on certain weapons. Assassin's Creed III is an open-world action-adventure game set primarily in 18th-century Colonial America during the American Revolution. Players control two characters across the story: Haytham Kenway, a British Templar operating during the French and Indian War, and his half-Mohawk son Ratonhnhaké:ton (also known as Connor), who becomes an Assassin. Gameplay takes place across Boston, New York City, and a large wilderness frontier, with free-running, stealth, and combat using weapons including tomahawks, muskets, bows, and the series' signature Hidden Blades. The game introduces naval combat through Connor's captaining of a warship, as well as hunting, a homestead economy system, and seasonal weather that affects gameplay. A modern-day framing narrative follows Desmond Miles using the Animus to relive his ancestors' memories.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the sequel to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and a prequel to the original Metal Gear. The game has a complex story with long cut-scene sequences, but there are fewer and they are shorter compared to earlier Metal Gear Solid titles. Most of the gameplay mechanics introduced in Ground Zeroes are carried over: it is still an action game and stealth oriented but replaces the linear corridor design from most earlier titles with large open world environments that offer the player unrestricted freedom for the approach. The world has now a real-time day and night cycle and various weather effects that influence enemy behaviour, visibility and sound. Sabotaging or destroying certain structures can also influence other parts of the map.

Trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil where even death is not an escape, four determined Survivors face a bloodthirsty Killer in a vicious game of nerve and wits. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey. R.E.P.O. (Retrieve, Extract and Profit Operation) is an online cooperative survival horror game for up to six players, developed by Swedish studio Semiwork using the Unity engine. Players are tasked with locating valuable physics-based objects within procedurally generated environments and carefully transporting them to extraction points without damaging them, all while avoiding hostile creatures. Between levels, players spend earned currency on permanent upgrades, weapons, and tools at a service station. The game emphasizes verbal coordination and strategic planning among teammates.

Inside is a puzzle-platformer developed by Playdead, presented in a 2.5D side-scrolling format with a dark, predominantly monochromatic visual style. The player controls an unnamed boy navigating a dystopian environment, solving environmental puzzles, avoiding hostile guards and creatures, and using a mind-control device to manipulate bodies in order to progress. The game features no dialogue or HUD, relying on visual and audio cues to guide the player through its increasingly surreal and dangerous settings.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is an action-adventure game set in Paris during the French Revolution. The player controls Arno Dorian, an Assassin who seeks to uncover the forces behind the political unrest. The game introduces new weapons, including the Phantom Blade, a modified Hidden Blade with ranged capabilities. Gameplay emphasizes stealth, parkour, and close combat, featuring updated free-running mechanics and a revised fighting system. The open-world setting recreates 18th-century Paris and includes historical events such as the storming of the Bastille and the execution of King Louis XVI. Unity also includes a cooperative multiplayer mode supporting up to four players.

Metro 2033 is a first-person shooter with survival horror elements, based on the Russian book of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Most of the game takes place underground, but several times Artyom will have to venture outside, into the perpetual nuclear winter. Game progression is fairly linear, though areas may be explored more thoroughly for items and ammunition. Setpieces include a few on-rails sequences, missions that involve defending a location from an onslaught of monsters, and others. A few stages can be completed in a stealthy fashion.
